Abstract

In August 2018, the Lampung Composite CPI experienced an increase in the index from 135.12 in July 2018 to 135.22 in August 2018, resulting in inflation of 0.07 percent. Based on calculations, inflation for the calendar year (point to point) in August 2018 was 2.30 percent and inflation year on year (yoy) in August 2018 was 3.31 percent.

Of the seven expenditure groups, five groups experienced inflation, namely the education, recreation and sports group experienced inflation of 3.89 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.34 percent, clothing group 0.16 percent; prepared food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups; and the health group 0.06 percent each. On the other hand, the foodstuffs group experienced deflation (decreased by 1.28 percent); and the transport, communications and financial services group experienced 0.07 percent. Of the two monitoring cities in Lampung in August 2018, all experienced inflation. Bandar Lampung inflation was 0.05 percent, and Metro inflation was 0.20 percent.
