Abstract

In April 2023, the combined year on year (yoy) inflation of the two cities in Lampung was 5.00 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.19. Bandar Lampung City's yoy inflation was 5.15 percent, with a CPI of 116.19 and Metro City's yoy inflation was 3.89 percent with a CPI of 116.25.

Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indexes (inflation), namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group 5.18 percent; clothing and footwear group 4.70 percent; the housing, water, electricity, gas and household fuel group 1.57 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group 3.14 percent; health group 3.77 percent; transportation group 11.93 percent; recreation, sport and culture group 4.03 percent; education group 9.23 percent; group providing food and drink/restaurant 2.94 percent; and personal care and other services group 5.34 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decline in index (deflation) was the information, communication and financial services group by 1.19 percent.

The main commodities contributing to yoy inflation in April 2023 include gasoline, filter clove cigarettes, rice, senior high schools, air transportation, intra-city transportation and eggs.
