Abstract

The working population in August 2017 decreased by 185.9 thousand people compared to the situation in February 2017 and by 35.1 thousand people compared to the situation a year ago.

Relatively speaking, Lampung's unemployment rate showed a decline from 4.43 percent in February 2017 to 4.33 percent in August 2017. When compared with August 2016 (4.62 percent), the unemployment rate fell by 0.29 points. In absolute terms, the number of job seekers (open unemployment) decreased by 14.1 thousand people or decreased by 7.40 percent over the last year.

Urban areas are still pockets of unemployment as indicated by the open unemployment rate which reached 6.84 percent compared to rural areas which reached 3.33 percent. Or in absolute terms 78.9 thousand people in urban areas compared to 97.3 thousand unemployed people in rural areas.
