Abstract

Rice production in 2011 (Fixed Figure) was 2.94 million tons of dry milled grain (GKG), an increase of 133.12 thousand tons (4.74 percent) compared to rice production in 2010. The increase in production was due to an increase in harvested area of 16 .37 thousand hectares (2.77 percent) and a productivity increase of 0.91 quintals per hectare (1.92 percent), namely from 47.54 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2010 to 48.45 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2011.

Rice production in 2012 (Forecast Figure I) is estimated at 3.08 million tons of GKG, an increase of 143.99 thousand tons (4.90 percent) compared to rice production in 2011 (Fixed Number). The increase in production was due to an increase in harvested area of 25.94 thousand hectares (4.27 percent) and an increase in productivity of 0.29 quintals per hectare (0.60 percent), namely from 48.45 quintals per hectare of GKG in 2011 to 48.74 quintals per hectare GKG in 2012.
